“Have you ever seen a 6 foot 4 inch 250 pound man posing like
a girl?..” Well, if you have ever been on a shoot with us
(hopefully you were female) there is a good chance you had
the misfortune of witnessing that demonstration…for
that, I am truly sorry.
My name is Brian and I am addicted to Photography. From an
early age art was always my passion. At first I thought I could
incorporate art into my everyday life by pursuing a career in
engineering.
Design stuff + make money = happy, fulfilling career Right? …Wrong!
Don’t get me wrong, I love the field of engineering but I also
love Northwest Ohio and it is a bit rough making all of those
things happen in a small town. So after a 10 year stint of doing
a job that I didn’t enjoy and not being able to express any
creativity, my wonderful wife Dee talked me into pursuing a
hobby I loved. Photography.
Being a techie computer geek anyway (I can’t get out of Best
Buy in under an hour…I’ve tried) it was natural to embrace the
Digital world of design and art. It felt right the second I picked
up a camera.
The Camera for me has always been a bit magical. We all lead very busy,
fast-paced lives and it is easy to forget how much beauty and art there is in
everyday life. Photography allows us to stop time, if just for a fraction of a second
and grab a moment. To be able to show that person the beauty I saw in that
moment is why I love what I do.
I have always believed that there is beauty in everyone. Every person regardless
of shape, size or age has something beautiful in them and it has always been my
passion and pleasure to try and capture that in an image. We want to provide
you with more than a “picture”. We want to create an image that is both
accurate and artistic. An image you would be proud to hang on a wall.
An image you would be proud to share with family and friends and in years to
come, be reminded of how much fun we had making it. Most importantly, to
remember you at that moment in your life. How important is that?
We opened B&D Photography 5 years ago with modest hopes, a lot of love &
support and a solid belief. In that time we have worked hard at improving our
craft. We have won several international & regional awards, spoken at events
across the US & Canada. We were featured in Studio Photography Magazine, do
design work for Graphic Authority, launched brianDESIGN, our own design
company, blah…blah…blah...
Basically, we just want you to know we work hard at what we do to be the best
we can be at it. To me, this is the greatest job in the world.
I love what I do…even if I have to pose like a girl from time to time.
Thanks for listening….Mahalo!
